Walls tumbling, dust flying, earth shaking and noise levels increasing.
This is a recording studio's worst nightmare.
Yet this is exactly what's happening to the building next door to ours
So armed with camera (and a cup of tea)
I ventured outside to have a peek
at ... "progress"
Old tin pressed ceilings, retro wallpaper, Victorian height ceilings...
... revealed when big burly dudes come a crashing and a bashing...
... peeling back layers of "office partitioning"....
... she really is a beauty
Although I was told she will be no more by the end of today
Recently the police stormed her to discover a meth lab
bubbling away....
I don't know why I think that's kind of cool?
Not the drugs aspect ....
.... but rather the rebellion that she housed ...
... as though she knew what the future held
I would have loved to enter the site for a better
poke around...
... but you can imagine what big burly workmen think
of a lady, tea in hand, wandering around taking photos....
.... of a building that has to be destroyed....
.... to make way for ...
... something new
I'm glad I had my tea break outside today

I, too, would have loved to have a peek around that place before they knocked it down - the layers of history! If walls could talk, eh?
Do you mind me using one of these pics for a piece of art that i'm doing ?
To "thechaz" - not at all - if you could link it back I'd appreciate it. Thanks for asking.
