Lyric Love ♥

If I keep holding out
Will the light shine through?

Under this broken roof
It’s only rain that I feel
I’ve been wishing out the days
Oh come back

I have been planning out
All that I'd say to you
Since you slipped away
Know that I still remain true

I’ve been wishing out the days
Please say that if you hadn’t gone now
I wouldn’t have lost you another way
From wherever you are
Oh come back

And these days they linger on
And in the night I’ve been waiting for
The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams
I go to sleep

If I don’t fall apart,
Will my memory stay clear
So you had to go
And I had to remain here

But the strangest thing today
So far away and yet you feel so close
And I’m not gonna question any other way

There must be an open door
For you ...
To come back

And the days they linger on
And every night when I’m waiting for...
The real possibility that I may meet you in my dreams

Sometimes you're there and you're talking back to me
Come the morning I can swear that you're next to me
And its okay...
It’s ok ....It’s ok
I’ll be here
Come back
Come back
I’ll be here
Come back
Come back
I’ll be here
Come back

And....
Just in case you've never heard this song before....

(Music - Pearl Jam & lyrics - Eddie Vedder)

Dedicated to the human heart... in all it's frailty

Hedonistic habits...

Do you have them?

This weekend allowed me to dabble in a few of mine...

Discover a new (and uber-cool) carpark cafe, order tea and coffee
AND find the product is as satisfying as the location...
(artwork at the cafe by this cool dude)

Visit one of my favourite nurseries
wander around aimlessly taking in every bloom,
enjoying the buzz of eager gardeners plotting
and planning their next project...
(come home with a bloom or two of my own)

Reading in the garden ... with tea... and chocolate....
and Pooch.... Doze off to the sound of birds calling
and neighbourhood kids giggling.

Collecting flowers (from my own garden) and place
them in pretty containers all around the house....

All the time reminded of those brilliant words by Joseph Campbell

"Follow your Bliss"

PS - Reading the Memory Keepers Daughter
by Kim Edwards
at the moment... It's like reading a dramatic dream.
Not getting anything else done - so I'd better hurry
and finish it!

Macabees and more...

Had the (awesome) opportunity to see The Macabees
play in in the city on the weekend
They were....

.... GOOOOOOOD!

Their energy on stage was infectious and they
looked so freaking happy to be doing what they were doing.
I love it when you're able to witness somebody
"in their element"...
just oozing joy and satisfaction... it's uplifting
and catchy and above all very inspirational - don't you think?

Speaking of oozing happiness...

This is Eddie (and his best friend - aka ball)

This is Eddie doing what he loves doing above and beyond
anything else... We throw - he fetches.
We throw  - he fetches.
If we don't STOP THROWING - he will NEVER STOP FETCHING.

Luckily we've had the perfect weather for long and
indulgent strolls to the park...

I think Eddie prefers a drier climate too.
(mainly because he has to have a bath if the park is muddy)

So we have all taken deep breaths and savoured this
little taste of Spring...

... that's lingered well into Autumn.

It's as though the Sun forgot to bid us farewell....

... and head of to hemispheres that need her now.

I dont want to be the one to remind her that
duty is calling her elsewhere.
When she does head your way make sure and tell her
'Thanks' - from all of us in Perth.
We've loved that she's holidayed with us
just that teeny bit longer than expected :-)

The rest of the week is shaping up to be just
as pleasant and if I play my cards right I might find myself
out in the garden again  - possibly able
to plant some much needed colour.

In the meantime I'll have to settle
for the blossoms on this pretty fabric I'm using at the moment.

So what's been happening in your neck of the woods?
What's in store for your weekend?

I've been drinking loads of freshly squeezed juices
and making delicious green smoothies.

I think the combination of sunshine and chlorophyll
has gone straight to my brain!
I'm actually excited to go to work tomorrow??

Ok.... I'll sign off now - but I'll be back soon.
As always.

The best Mothers Day yet...

Woken up with a delicious breakfast of poached
 eggs cooked by Young Prince
(and served with PRESENTS!)

Our girls give us the most delicious eggs I've ever tasted.

Look at that yellow yolk! Sunshine on toast.
After scoffing it's time for tea and cards and gifts and chatting
and laughing and loving... all in bed... YAY!

My favourite chocolates and some super comfy jammies - I must
confess I have an addiction/obsession with sleep wear. I love the range
at Sussan and I have quite the weakness for this and this too!
Sigh...

Then brought to life with a sublime shower
outside...

This is part of the view I get to enjoy every time

... the birds are calling and the sun
is just about to burst through the clouds.
Blessed... oh yes.

Then I had to quickly wrap the gifts we had for my Mum.
(brown paper + string ♥♥)

I found this image for her card
(we generally make all our cards ... a skill we've
acquired from Mum... hers are still the best though)

I also managed to score this great big craft magnifying
glass for her (in it's original box) from a thrift store.
Mums eyesight is not what it used to be so so this was
a winner.... useful AND recycled.

Of course I am Mum to some feathered folk
too and enjoying a delicious cuppa
along with one .... ok TWO ... of my chocolates....

whilst watching them scratch and make a noise.
My kinda crazy idea of fun.

I meandered through the garden feeling
incredibly abundant, blessed and loved.

Sometimes I still have to pinch myself and
say "Yes ... this is real... a dream cottage...
fertile land... chickens... trees......

... life all around ...

... beauty everywhere I look"

Just the boost one needs before
readying the house for guests.....

Flowers and candles... a dinner party staple.

And the rest ... well that did not get photographed because quite frankly
I was just too busy having a blooming good time.
My family came up and we laughed and ate and talked and loved.
I do wish I had taken a photo of my littlest niece emptying a
tub of tiny rocks on the deck and smiling as though she had
just painted a masterpiece. Her dirty hands and golden curls
a perfect metaphor for the day... BEAUTIFUL FUN.

Thank you Hubby and Young Prince.
I'm one very blessed Lady.
